In a recent Supreme Court decision, General Register (G.R.) No. 235316, the land dispute between the city governments of Taguig and Makati over the Fort Bonifacio Military Reservation was resolved. As a result, 10 barangays have been transferred from the City of Makati to the City of Taguig. This change was adopted in the 3rd Quarter 2023 Philippine Standard Geographic Code (PSGC) maintained by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). The 10 barangays that were previously part of the City of Makati now adopt the geographic code for the City of Taguig.
Additionally, there have been other significant updates to the PSGC. The municipality of Carmona in the province of Cavite has been converted into the City of Carmona through Republic Act No. 11938.
